In these troubling times, lots of people struggle. If times are tough for you, or someone you care about, taking care of the basics is essential. Food is just one of those things you have to take care of.
I have a friend who, due to an autoimmune disease, she can’t work. And as most know, getting on Social Security Disability can take years (an average of 4)!
Until she was able to get that help, I helped out by getting low cost food (among other things). Knowing what to buy, and where to shop helps a LOT.
The Emergency Food Assistance Program, more commonly known as the Food Stamp Program, can greatly benefit those truly in need. My friend was one of those in need, and finally got food stamps, taking a huge load off me personally.
If you really do need help, please check out their website. http://www.fns.usda.gov/ffd/programs/tefap This federal program is managed by the US Dept of Agriculture.
